I started hosting drop-dinners in October 2022. The concept is adopted from Mia Birdsong's book, How We Show Up. It’s an invitation to drop by within a container of loose planning. As an introverted only child, I love having people over, but I also get a bit anxious with the idea of folks unexpectedly dropping by.
What to expect:
It'll be casual. We will simply make more of whatever happens to be for dinner that night. It will be gluten-free, dairy-free, potato-free.
You don't have to bring anything, but you can. Potluck style is always appreciated. Salad, tortilla chips, bevs. Don’t let showing up empty-handed be the reason you don’t show up.
You don't have to be in a good mood. We’re all human with good days and bad.
There are no tricks up my sleeve. I will not have soul searching questions prepared. IFYKYK. The only thing I'm preparing is the food, which will be gf, df, pf.
Kids and dogs are welcome. Enzo will be here.
Last minute RSVPs and cancellations are fine. Even if you don't RSVP, you can show up anyway.. That is the point!
You can't invite other people. If you're receiving this email it's because I have a relationship with you that I want to invest in. I'm not trying to do that with everyone or with your friend from out of town.
Excited to see you!

Sara
